
the kingston museum of contemporary arts is a multi-use artspace in the rondout neighborhood of kingston, ny.
exhibitions change monthly and there is an opening reception on the first saturday evening of each month. other semi-regular events include film screenings, readings, live music, book swaps, etc.
our shows alternate between outsider art and work with a strong social commentary. like the artwork, kmoca itself plays two sides of the fence: it’s a satellite art space for nyc, but also a neighborhood joint.
kmoca was started in autumn 2005 by adam snyder and aimee gardner in a 6x12 studio in midtown kingston. the first opening was a little crowded. adam & aimee moved kmoca down to an old storefront on abeel street.
adam ran the space himself briefly after aimee’s departure, then in june 2007 ann & brian early and deborah degraffenreid joined the team as kmoca relocated next door in a slightly more versatile space at 103 abeel street. the kmoca story continues...
